Health, Safety and Environment Protection Policy


The Company will provide healthy and safe working conditions and will maintain safe and pollution-free operating
practices that comply with and exceed national and international regulations and relevant standards and guidelines.
Zero incidents, zero injuries, zero pollution accidents is the ultimate target for the Company.


Procedures, as defined in the Company Documented Management System are established to ensure:

  • Safe, environment friendly and efficient practices in ship operation and safe working environment.
  • Proactive identification and assessment of risks for the safe, pollution free, effective and efficient operations.
  • Safeguards against all identified and properly assessed risks.
  • Continuous improvement of the safety management and environment protection skills of personnel ashore and onboard, including preparing for emergencies related both to safety, security, information security, cyber security and environmental protection.
  • High standards of safety consciousness, soft skills resilience and behavioural awareness and development, personal discipline and individual accountability by adherence to a comprehensive and documented system of learning engagements.
  • Colleagues’ engagement in Management Review meetings and HSQE Committee, aiming at improving health and safety and protecting the environment.
  • Colleagues’ awareness of any known or potential hazards that may affect themselves, their colleagues, the ship or the environment by transmittal of pertinent documentation and activation of Management Review meetings
    and HSQE committee.
  • Management in strict confidence to eliminate incidents related to harassment and bullying.
  • Adherence at all times to the documented operating procedures by a system of internal verification of procedures and activities.
  • Continuous review of all mandatory rules, regulations, industry codes and guidelines that are relevant to specific ship types and trades.
  • Continuous improvement by monitoring key performance indicators, reviewing and revising systems and procedures.


All colleagues are expected to comply with Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations and Procedures at all times
and to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves, their colleagues, the ship, her cargo and the environment.

Reflective Learning and Training Policy


It is Company policy to:

  • Ensure that personnel assigned to the various tasks connected with the provision of services offered by the Company are appropriately experienced and trained in those tasks.
  • Identify training needs by means of on-going appraisal of individual development and performance.
  • Arrange appropriate reflective learning engagements and training courses for individuals in line with the resources available and current operational demands.
  • Boost engagement of individuals through reflective learning.
  • Encourage those more experienced in the Company's business and operations to share their knowledge with less experienced personnel.
  • Maintain adequate records of reflective learning engagements and training courses.
  • Conduct regular informal interviews with personnel where free interchange of opinion can take place to address both the needs of the individual and those of the Company.
  • Adhere to national and international requirements for manning ships and to ensure that the records of seastaff are available for verification.

Security Management Policy

 

 

 


The overall security objective of the Company is to:

  • Provide security procedures and practices for ship operations to protect the security of ports and the wider community
  • Safeguard crew, passengers, visitors, other colleagues and cargoes from the activities of terrorist or other criminal organizations
  • Ensure a framework, through which ships and port facilities can co-operate to detect and deter acts which threaten security in the maritime transport sector
  • Ensure that the Company Security Officer (CSO), the Master and the Ship Security Officer (SSO) are given the necessary support to fulfil their duties and responsibilities in accordance with SOLAS chapter XI-2 and part 6 “Obligations of the Company”
  • Improve the security skills and awareness of company personnel ashore and on board the ship by reflective learning engagements,training and drills
  • Prepare contingency measures for emergencies relating to possible security incidents.

Global Counter Piracy Guidance and related documents apply.
No fire arms or violence will be used by the crew to counteract breach of ship’s security.


Qualified armed teams, in co-operation with Port Facilities, will be used if applicable and if required by the circumstances.
